Stony Point High School 
Our SPHS Solar car team of eight students have been working tirelessly this summer preparing for this incredible race.
The Solar Car Challenge has 241 on-going high school solar car projects located in 38 states, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas. These teams are in the process of designing, engineering, and building roadworthy solar cars in anticipation of an upcoming solar racing event.
Out of eight surrounding Texas counties we are the only team that will be racing at the track! That is so exciting for our SPHS Solar Car team. This race at TEXAS Motor Speedway – we will be competing against Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Washington, and a few other Texas teams.
