Parking

We cannot issue a parking permit to students who do not have their Driver’s License. A Learner’s Permit is not a substitute for the actual license.

However, once you have obtained your license, see Ms. Zinnedine in A204 to assist you with the application process. If you are a senior wishing to purchase a reserved parking space and will not get your license until later in the year, check with Mr. McDonough (C236) for availability.

The following steps MUST be followed in the ORDER below to apply for a parking permit.  If you do not follow the proper steps in the ORDER below, you will not be issued a parking permit until you have done so.

1) Complete the Student Parking Application form, read the Parking Contract (included in the application) AND upload all requested documentation FIRST.

With limited parking, priority parking will be given to seniors first, then juniors. Sophomores will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Parking permits will not be issued until ALL steps have been completed in the order requested and driver’s license, insurance and payments have all been verified. When paying by credit card, you must wait at least one day before picking up your permit to allow for payment verification by our staff.  All payments are non-refundable.

2) After you have completed the above and click on Submit on the application, you will see a message that will direct you to the payment link.  

**Payment will be taken ONLINE ONLY and ONLY after this form is completed.** 

General parking permits (juniors or seniors) are $35.00.

Senior reserved parking spaces are $75.00.

**No refunds will be issued.**

***Bring a copy of your e-receipt when picking up your permit.***  

You will need to upload:

  • A copy of your driver’s license (A Learner’s Permit is not a substitute for the actual license.)
  • A copy of your car insurance. The student MUST be listed on the insurance card.

Prepare now and be sure you have the following information, you will need this to complete the form:

  • Vehicle type (SUV, 2-door, 4-door etc.)
  • Vehicle year
  • Vehicle make
  • Vehicle model
  • Vehicle color
  • Vehicle license plate#

    Submission of the “SPHS Parking 2023-2024” form indicates your agreement to this contract.  READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY.


    All students involved with motor vehicles at Stony Point High School should be aware of and follow the procedures listed below:

    1. Reserved Permits will be sold for $75.00 per vehicle per school year. Reserved Permits are limited to Seniors ONLY. General Permits will be sold for $35.00 per vehicle per school year. Seniors and Juniors are allowed to purchase General Permits. Sophomores will be considered on a case by case basis for a General Student parking.

    2. The student parking lot on campus is PARKING BY PERMIT ONLYSenior Reserved parking is from rows J-M and General Student Parking is from rows N- Baseball Lot.   Every vehicle parked on campus MUST have a SPHS parking sticker, otherwise, the vehicle will be fined, booted, or towed at the car owner’s expense.

    3. Students MAY NOT transfer permits to ANY OTHER vehicle or give/sell/transfer a permit to another
    student or individual. Students agree to permanently affix the parking sticker to the inside of the
    lower left-hand corner of the front windshield, above the state sticker. Permits on motorcycles, mopeds
    and similar motorized vehicles will be affixed to the rear fender or headlamp. Students who change
    vehicles during the school year are required to visit the parking office (C137) for instructions on how to
    transfer their permits to their new vehicles.

    4. If a permit is stolen or lost, a new permit must be purchased at full price.

    5. Production, distribution, possession and/or use of a fake parking permit will result in school
    disciplinary consequences and the loss of parking privileges. Students using fake or forged parking
    permits will be assessed a $50.00 fine on each offense.

    1. Students are not allowed to park in the following areas:
      a. All campus drives.
      b. Areas marked Reserved, Faculty/Staff, Buses Only, Visitor, Handicapped*, Fire Lane*, Tow 

    Zone, Performing Arts Center, or other similar language and other special areas not marked for parking. Students parked in these areas are subject to have a boot and a fine.
    c. Students parking on private property adjacent to school property or blocking drives are subject
    to legal action (car being towed, etc.) by the property owner.


    *Vehicles parked in spaces marked handicapped or fire lanes are additionally subject to being
    issued a citation by the Round Rock ISD Police Department.

    7. Students who are children of RRISD Faculty and Staff and who drive their vehicles to school must
    purchase a permit and park in student areas only. They may NOT park in the faculty parking areas.

    8. Per RRISD Student Handbook, students who are classified as seniors may leave campus during
    their respective lunch periods. Seniors who depart campus during the day for lunch must show a
    Senior ID. Half-day cooperative education students leaving the campus for work, or juniors and
    seniors approved for partial schedules must show a student ID and a copy of their schedule which
    shows their off campus period(s). Students must be prepared to show identification each time they leave campus.


    1. Students transporting students off campus who are not eligible during the school day are subject to disciplinary consequences which include but are not limited to the following:
      a. Loss of off campus privilege
      b. Revocation of parking privilege

      10. Vehicles parked improperly, illegally, or without a current permit starting September 1, 2023
      are subject to the penalties listed below:

    1st Offense: Warning ticket or sticker will be placed on the student’s car. 

    2nd Offense: Parking ticket issued – $25.00 fine.
    3rd Offense: Parking ticket issued – $50.00 fine and tire lock placed on vehicle.
    Fine must be paid to have the tire lock removed.
    Additional Offenses:  Parking ticket issued – $75.00 fine and tire lock placed on vehicle. Fine
    must be paid to have the tire lock removed.

    11. Tampering with or removal of a boot will be subject to an additional $50 fine and loss of
    parking privileges. Any damage to the boot will result in replacement cost in addition to the fine.

    12. Speeding and/or reckless driving on campus property, regardless of date and time, are subject
    to disciplinary action which can include but are not limited to the following:

    1. Notifying of parent
      b. Suspension of parking privilege or revocation of parking permit for a period of time as
      determined by an administrator.
      c. $50 fine

      13. MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT ON CAMPUS IS 10 MILES PER HOUR.

      14. Students shall not sit in parked cars or loiter in the parking lots at any time.

      15. All accidents should be reported to a Campus Administrator, Security Guard, or SRO immediately.

      16. Neither SPHS nor RRISD will be held liable for damages or theft involving student or teacher
      vehicles while on the school grounds. This includes vehicles parked near the baseball field and
      damaged by out-of-bounds balls.

      17. The Stony Point High School Administrative Team has the discretion to revoke parking privileges
      or ban vehicles from the campus for repeated or serious parking/driving violations or failure to
      pay parking fines. Any student who has his/her parking permit revoked during the school year will not
      receive a refund.


    New for 2023-2024!

    1. If you need to leave campus during the school day (doctor, dentist, sick, etc.) your parent/guardian must check you out from the front office (512-428-7000). The gates will not be opened unless the front office contacts our Parking Lot Security Team to open them.


    **STUDENT PARKING UPDATE**

     There are some changes this year regarding Student Parking so it is imperative that you read this in its entirety before purchasing a Student Parking Permit.

    Having a student parking permit is a privilege and any student who does not abide by the Parking Permit rules and/or violates safety procedures will lose their driving privilege on campus.  Violations include:

    v  Driving on the grass

    v  Driving above the speed limit

    v  Skipping class or Tiger Hour and staying in your car

    v  Driving on or around the blacktop

    v  Removing and/or moving safety cones

    Students who have not paid for a Student Parking permit and park on campus will have a boot placed on their car. The fee to remove the boot is $50.

    *Only students who have completed the Parking Permit application, been approved and received a Parking Permit may park on campus.*

    9th, 10th, & 11th graders are not allowed to go off campus at any time.  (Please see exception)

    No students are allowed to leave the campus during Tiger Hour. Tiger Hour is an academic hour.  (Please see exception)

    Only Seniors may leave campus during their lunch and must return to campus to attend their afternoon classes.

    IMPORTANT : Stony Point is installing 2 gates as pictured below and these gates will be locked from 10:15 am – 11:20 am.   The gates will be open for Seniors to go off campus for lunch from 11:20 am – 1:20 pm.   Gates will re-open for Seniors at 2:50 pm.

     

     

    Exception:  Students who bring their parent note or Early Check-out form to leave campus early and received a pass from the Front Office before the school day starts will be allowed to leave at the requested time. 


    PARKING REGULATIONS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED

     Offenses include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Parking in a reserved spaced that is not your own 
    • Junior parking in senior parking
    • Parking in the auditorium lot
    • Parking in the faculty lots
    • Parking on the blacktop behind the portables
    • Parking in handicapped space without a tag

     1st offense – Warning

    2nd offense – $25 fine

    3rd offense – $50 fine and car will be booted

     

    If you park without a Parking Permit, your vehicle will be automatically booted and you will need to pay a fine of $50 to get it removed.

     

    For the following offenses, you will lose your parking privilege on campus:

    •  Driving on the grass
    •  Driving above the speed limit
    • Skipping class or Tiger Hour and staying in your car
    • Driving on or around the blacktop
    • Removing and/or moving safety cones
    • Driving recklessly on campus

    SENIORS ONLY

    The following rules apply to Seniors purchasing a reserved parking space and are in addition to the rules above:


    1. You hereby agree to abide by all of the following rules and regulations corresponding to the privilege of having a reserved parking space:
    • You are required to follow all parking rules and guidelines as outlined in the SPHS Parking & Traffic Control Policy.
    • Your reserved spot is only considered reserved from 8AM – 4:30PM on days for which classes are scheduled. You are only able to park in your reserved senior parking space on campus during school hours. Your vehicle is subject to be ticketed if you park anywhere except your reserved space.
    • Students who purchase a Reserved Permit are allowed to paint their space. Painting will only occur between the dates of 7/24/2023 – 8/4/2023 and on weekends from 8/19/2023 to  8/27/2023 unless written permission is obtained by Administration. The upkeep and maintenance of your space is your sole responsibility.


    Rules for painting your spot:


    • Clean your space first. Students will need to remove as much debris as possible from the cracks in the pavement prior to painting.
    • Give at least 2 days for painting your spot as you will need to paint over the spot from the previous year with 100% acrylic, exterior, satin house paint, black or maybe a dark charcoal gray. Satin finish will be better to paint over. Wait at least a day for it to dry before painting your creation.
    • Only use water-based exterior latex paint when painting your spot.
    • You are responsible for purchasing your own paint supplies.
    • Do not paint on or cover the white lines or the parking space identification number.
    • Paint your name in the lower right corner of the parking space.
    • Prohibited items include but are not limited to:


    • Offensive language, pictures or symbols
    • Negative or rude language
    • Double entendre’s or double meaning


    • Boyfriend or girlfriend name
    • Nicknames (prior approval)
    • “Gang-style” tagging
    1. If your design includes prohibited items, your spot will be painted over at the discretion of Administration and may be subject to disciplinary action, including forfeiture of your parking space with no refund.


    1. If someone is parked in your spot during school hours, it is your responsibility to notify a Parking Lot Security Officer. You may also utilize the Remind App (downloadable on i-phones and Android devices) for parking to let us know the license plate of the vehicle and the parking space they are parked in. If you park in someone else’s reserved spot, you will be subject to the consequences outlined in the Stony Point High School Parking and Traffic Control Policy.


    • For students who last name ends in A-L, use the following Join Code: sphsparkal

    1. Violations of the SPHS Parking and Traffic control Policy could result in disciplinary action, including forfeiture of parking space with no refund.

    I have read and understand the 2023-2024 school parking policy. I agree to abide by these policies and understand that if I do not, I may lose the privilege to park my vehicle at school. I agree to permanently affix​ the parking sticker to the inside of the lower left-hand corner of the front windshield, above the state sticker and will only park in student designated areas. ​Failure to comply with these policies may result in a ticket being issued to me. Any vehicle parked on school property is subject to search by school officials for reasonable cause.
